Amanda Covington is a proud Las Vegas native, with an incredible love for her hometown. With a long-standing history in philanthropic work within her community starting in Junior High School with anti-drug education through Peer Resistance Education Program (PREP) as well as Students Taking Action to Terminate Unlawful Substances (STATUS) educating younger children as well as peers about the dangers of drug use & abuse. Amanda then expanded to peer counseling in High School with The Natural Helpers Program assisting fellow high schoolers struggling with depression, suicide, and difficulties in their homes. Most recently Amanda Served for two years as President of National Charity League (NCL), Las Vegas Chapter; Mothers and Daughters serving the community together as well as other board positions and will be remaining on as a Sustainer Member when her daughter graduates from the six year program in May of 2021. As a daughter of a Vietnam Veteran Amanda also volunteers with The American Legion Auxiliary Post 149 volunteering at different events serving out local veteran community.
With 16 years in banking all with Nevada State Bank Amanda is now an AVP / Treasury Management Sales Associate assisting businesses in our community to streamline their banking processes and become more efficient in their day to day operations.
Amanda began her initial relationship with B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation, on the professional level working with Founder, Kimberly Miles. While serving as president in NCL she wanted to integrate the two organizations to partner together within the community as the organization’s missions aligned. As a single mother of a daughter it is of utmost importance to Amanda to educate and empower young women.
In her free time, when not volunteering Amanda enjoys spending time with her daughter binge watching their favorite shows and hanging out with her extended family that includes six nephews and six nieces. Recently Amanda has taken up more physical activities including bike riding and neighborhood walks while listening to her favorite tunes.
