Operations Manager

Lisa Hayden

Lisa, originally from San Diego, has spent most of her life in Las Vegas — an experience that has given her what she describes as “a genuine love for the beauty of the desert, and a heartfelt concern for its dilemmas.”

A graduate of University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science, Lisa focused her academic work on protecting precious resources and addressing the societal and economic consequences of environmental challenges. Her fieldwork has been published in industry journals and white papers.

An advocate at heart, Lisa began championing causes at just 12 years old — supporting animal rights initiatives, attending anti-nuclear rallies opposing the Yucca Mountain repository, and actively supporting women’s rights organizations.

For more than 30 years, Lisa has worked in the beauty industry as a small business owner, educator, and mentor. Her decades in the salon industry have fostered meaningful relationships across diverse communities — relationships that opened doors and deepened her awareness of the challenges facing our city.

Her involvement with SHERO Foundation grew out of one of those relationships and led her to serve as the Founding Inaugural Chairperson of the Technology Committee. After two years in that role, she went on to serve six years on the SHERO Executive Board. Today, Lisa serves as the Foundation’s Manager of Operations, continuing her commitment to advocacy, leadership, and impact.

Outside of her work, Lisa enjoys cooking for her husband (and their dogs), staying active with Peloton workouts, mentoring others in the nonprofit sector, and reading about forensic science, history, environmental issues, and global development.
